Xiaopan OS Installation

1- Live CD:


A) Definition:
Live CD is a CD or DVD from which you can boot an OS that, in this case, is XiaopanOS.

B) How To Create:
Lot of free and paid software can create live CD, but in this tutorial we will be using two of them:

a) Windows Disk Image Burner. (Already on windows computers).
> Insert CD or DVD disk in computer.
> Right-click on the xiaopan.iso file- open with- Windows Disk Image Burner.
> Check the “Verify Disk After Burning” Checkbox and Click Burn.
> When it finishes burning and verifying the disk click Close.

b) Nero Express Essentials. (You can download it).
> Insert CD or DVD disk in computer.
> Right-click on the xiaopan.iso file- open with- Nero Express Essentials.
> Choose CD or DVD and click burn.

C) How To Boot:
Restart computer and click F12 you will enter to the boot menu. Choose boot from disk.
XiaopanOS will boot.

2- Live USB:

A) Definition:
Live USB is a USB from which you can boot an OS that, in this case, is XiaopanOS.

B) How to Create:
Lot of free and paid software can create live USB, but in this tutorial we will be using:

a) Linux Live USB Creator. (You can download it from Login or Signup to view links / downloads).
> Choose The USB.
> Choose the source (which is xiaopan.iso in this case).
> In the option check all the checkboxes.
> Click the lightning to create.

C) How To Boot:
Restart computer and click F12 you will enter to the boot menu. Choose boot from USB.
XiaopanOS will boot.

3- VMware Player:

A) Definition:
VMware Player is a free tool which allows you to run virtual system on host system.

B) How To Create:
> Run VMware Player.
> Click on “Create a new virtual machine”.
> Choose “Installer disk image file (iso)”.
> Click browse and choose xiaopan.iso.
> Click next, choose Linux and then Other Linux 2.6.x kernel.
> Choose the name. (xiaopan)
> Choose anything above 4 GB and next.
> Customize Hardware- put memory up to 512 mb and finish.

C) How To Boot:
Click play virtual machine, xiaopan will boot.

D) Video Tutorial:


4- VirtualBox:

A) Definition:
VirtualBox is a free tool which allows you to run virtual system on host system.

B) How To Create:
> Run Oracle VM VirtualBox.
> Click on "New".
> Choose the name. (xiaopan)- Type: Linux- Version: Other Linux.
> Put memory up to 512 mb.
> Create a hard drive now.
> Click next and then another and then choose anything around 4 GB and create.

C) How To Boot:
Click start, they will ask you for disk, browse and find xiaopan.iso, press ok and xiaopan will boot.
